Several forces fuel Compton Quashie as a Chicago based designer and artist. Through exploration and research they focuses on issues surrounding cultural history and appropriation. Themes of Afrofuturism, gender fluidity, popular and material culture, historical narratives, and the rapidly evolving world of street fashion culminate in their unique expression of fashion, body and garment.
